Default Design Portfolio

I'm putting up a design portfolio website soon, started coming up with uhh.. 'blank' websites, here's the first one i've done in a while. Well I had this design before, but I edited it a good bit tonight, what do you think?

Edit: I'll add a few more another time to get some opinions from you guys.

I like it. Looks like a clan website.

Two Suggestions:
1. The orangy colour top left is cut off, try make it fade like the other side.
2. Make the pattern the background, and make the boxes black inside. So basicley do the oppisite.

Question, Do people buy designs like that straight as a Photoshop format?

To answer your question, yes, they do. Then they get them coded. I had a guy buy one of my PS templates once.

Hmm ive tried slicing them before. Dont really understand it. I know you make like the links and anything you want that will be 'clickable', but what happens after?

Well, on Photoshop... you go File -> Save for Web

You slice because, loading a whole site as one big image will take longer than loading lots of smaller images. Ever noticed when a site is loading, some images load before others? that's because it's sliced.

If you slice around all the parts that you want there to be links, images and where your content (text) is going to be, then go to file and save for web, then select all slices, photoshop will save your slices, and it will automatically slice the rest of the image and save them, if you select all user slices, it will only save your own sliced up parts (which is best so you can add a background image when you go to code).

Yep! It'll all be aligned to the left, if you drag across all of the images, you'll select it as a whole, then at the bottom of Dreamweaver, select Centre in Alignment.
