Default Hardest parts of a design

When you are designing, what is the hardest part that you find about it? I personally find that the links are the hardest to design. Whether it be a vertical or horizontal, I always have trouble making it look good.

Nooo.. It is DEFINITELY, definitely definitely definitely.. The content! Content always makes or breaks my designs.. It's extremely hard to design it well.

Do you mean like the center where the recent news and stuff is? That can be easy if you just put all the text into a margin smaller than the border for the content.

I always fail at content. I get a really nice design going and then have no decent content for it. It basically means i haven't done any web design for a while now except at school. Even my own website has no design now... It's just a plain text page saying something along the lines of 'come back soon'

have you used lorem ipsum? if not, try it.

for a majority of the sites i make, and since im not a designer first, i try and design around the content, making the content shine first then the layout.. if you already have the content, try and find out what needs to be on spotlight and how it should be laid out so you can get a better understanding and design relevant layouts. <- and thats coming from a developer! lol

thats y i cant do templates.. lol

Yeah. I used to use that all the time but people would just say 'Why is there this strange latin all over the page?' so I stopped bothering.

Lipsum is so useful. It's so easy to fill a page with pure garbage.

Another hard part about a design is designing it so that it can be coded easily. I see a lot of layouts that are extremely good looking but very hard to code.
