The x stands for extensible, and should still save as xhtml, the only difference is that xhtml has more rigid standards on the html code itself.
Go ahead and go for xhtml from the start, its mostly the same. Check out w3schools, it is one of, if not the best online resource for web coding. Good Luck, |

Once you get a hang of XHTML & CSS it will be very easy to code. Keep a CSS "cheat sheet" by you so you can reference the different attributes. Other than that, focus on your design and the coding will be easy.
The thing with the latest standards of XHTML & CSS is that there is less coding than ever, so consider that a good thing. Again, W3Schools is your best bet.
