Web Design for Teen Dream Radio

Hello Everyone,

As most of you know, we've decided to launch a radio station as part of the GigaNu Ltd network alongside TBF.

We would like to have some design ideas, what would you like to see?

We were thinking of having something bright and colourful, maybe with clouds etc, a nice web 2.0 look, but what do you guys think?

Either explain your idea, show us other similar sites, or make a draft version!

I think you should make it very sleek, very easy to navigate. With a blog in the middle, guest book on the rigtht, and on the left the navigation.

Will this radio be playing music or will it be a chat radio station, because if its music, you should allow people to request a song/shout out. Or if its a chat show alow people to ring up and discus the topic on hand, or let people feel out a form to alow the Dj to read out the persons opinion.

Ill be geting photoshop hopefully monday, so ill do a few designs of what i feel it should look like.

And are you going to be needing any DJ's because ill be interested.

Ill work on a few designs when i get a chance. Most popular online radio stations have very cluttered websites which seem to work for them so ill do a few like that and some cleaner designs.

We(my team and I) started redesigning the radio station(I already have one) on its own site so we will have it up soon. We have the streams up and now just need to impliment a flash player. We have a guy working on that. So far it can only allow 15 users on at one time but when server gets advanced it will allow much more. This server update is to happen soon, possible next week. My job in the project is to run the radio station and build the site. If anyone would like to help let me know.

My idea is to have this site's radio station be one style and my teams could be a different style.

Allowing people to make requests is a good idea from ReX, we like that.

We think the design should be very nice, professional etc, but contain a lot of information, I think some websites can look too 'clean' and then they just look empty!

There is fees you have to pay to run a online radio station, right?

I beliee if you run a radio station, broadcasting music, if you play something over the music for a certain amount of time its okay, usually if your listening to the radio and the DJ is talking for the first 20 seconds of the song or something?

So your saying that in the USA there is no problem? All the music on my(team and I) station will be music I downloaded legally for free. That would be fine to run with out buying a license?

I think you may need a license for certain radio stations but apart from that, there are no other fees towards paying for music

Surely you have to pay royalties? If i were you i would contact an already founded online radio station?
