I've never seen a graphic designer charge more than $5k to create a website, to be honest.

I have known clinets to have been quoted up to 8k (euros) for a site before asking for a quote from me! I feel sorry for the people who actually agree to pay 8k.

Companies can charger really high if they have a strong brand. That's basically what you're buying. The longer they're in business, the more they can charge. The more people who've heard of them, the more they can charge.

Yeah, a major business probably won't be run on a $600 design. Think fox or CNN or politcal websites or online retail sites. Corporations. Those will be xxxx+ jobs. A blogger probably won't ever pay that much.

And also if you build websites for government clients (defense contractors), their websites cost anywhere from $xxx, xxx - to well over a million. Of course, the software they use is sometimes much more complicated than Wordpress. Other times, it's not. But the US government is not going to hire Jack Liu when they can hire companies like Lockheed Martin, Northrup Gruman, etc. Maybe after running a web development firm for 50 years, I might get that business.

But keep in mind... more doesn't always mean better. I seen a lot of software projects fail. Sometimes, smaller is better.

Yea nice article....

It costs much to set up a good website. The rate may vary according to the quality of the sites. But, if we didn't have to attract the people to our site, the whole expense will become waste. So it is important to get the public attention to our site for the improvement of our business.
