Ok, so I don't have much experience with stocks. I did learn a little bit about it a while back. I highly recommend this book if you want to learn about using patterns in stocks. The book is called "How To Make Money In Stocks: A Winning System in Good Times or Bad", written by William O'Neil. You can most likely find it in your nearest library. The book is based off of about 10 years of stocks data that his company collected which was then entered into a computer database and analyzed. Out of the data, O'Neil states that there are patterns in recognizing when a stock will go or down. He started Investor's Business Daily, which is now just http://www.investors.com. O'Neil came up with a formula which is also talked about in his book called CANSLIM.
Another good resource is a virtual stock investing game over at http://investopedia.com. This is a great way to get a feel for investing in stocks without having to use real money. But to keep things interesting, you can enter contests where you can go up against other players. I did this for a while and did pretty good while using the CANSLIM method. |

Its a bit of a dodgy time to buy stocks, you could land a bargain, you could lose everything, borders only went down the other day, hundreds of stores. I have never dabbled in shares as i thought i would get some money together and then do it, but its hard to give up your hard earned cash on a gamble, but its the fun aspect of it that would draw me in, its something i will do in the future i am sure.
