I can only refer you to some resources that will help:
Also Robert Kiyosaki, the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad wrote a lot of books on increasing your financial intelligence. One of the things he trains the reads to look at are stock summaries, balance sheets, etc. You might want to check out that book also, Increase Your Financial IQ

How it goes in the financial times: column 1 - 52 week high (highest the stock has been within a year), column 2 - 52 week low (lowest it has been for a year), column 3 - company name, column 4 - ticker symbol (basically a bunch of letters that represent the company e.g microsoft 'msft), column 5 - dividend (the amount of profit the company gives out per stock), column 6 - dividend yield (% return on stock from dividend), column 7 - price to earnings ratio (amount of profit company makes divided by share price), column 8 - trade volume (amount of times that particular share was traded during Market hours), column 9 - high price (highest price stock reached during trade hours), column 10 - low price (the lowest price that stock went to during trade hours), column 11 - close price (the value of the stock when the Market closed), column 12 - net gain (the difference in stock price from the previous day) - if you need further explanation of ANYTHING feel free to ask.
