Default How do you balance out school and work ?

I work at whataburger and work 3 day weeks from 5-10 , and ive never been so exhausted in my life. Currently in my junior year in high school, the hardest grade(in my opinion). By the time i get home im so exhausted i've to take a nap and wake up early to do my homework .

When I was in sixth form, I went to the gym 3 times a week before school, worked 3-4 nights a week and kept up with my school work. It was the busiest time of my life to date but I needed to do all 3.
School - to get A Levels
Work - To get money
Gym - to get fit for the RAF [failed the medical, turns out I have terrible eyesight]

Tbh I don't remember being that tired but if I ever had too much school work or it was getting close to exam time, I'd ask my employer if I could work fewer shifts that week or for how ever long I needed. He was always understanding. And that's probably what you need to, just ask to 2 shifts instead of 3.

@Starog,
What is RAF?

I remember how I did this back when I was in highschool. The school I went to was a hour train ride away each way so that was already 2 hours just on commuting that I wasted each day. I would always sleep on the train because I didn't get enough sleep. I slept something like 7 hours but the naps I caught while riding the train gave me 8 each night.

I remember starting my homework right away when I came home because I felt it was always endless. I had Asian parents so having good grades was a priority. I didn't work thought but homework each night took me from 4-6, then break for dinner, then again from 7-10. That was my weekdays.

On weekends, I usually worked with my parents 1 day that went from 6am - 6pm. That helped me earn money. Then on Sundays, I went to play basketball almost the entire day. Looking back, I didn't need straight A's. I mean the effort to go from a 85 to a 95 is significantly higher. Just because you get a 95 doesn't actually mean you understood the material. You could have just memorized it very well. I definitely tried to slide by whenever I could for classes that didn't matter as much and spent more time on ones that I liked.

Hope this helps. Main thing was I started my homework right away because the material was fresh in my mind.

Apologies Bond, I forgot TBF isn't only people from UK. It's Royal Air Force.

It was probably the most terrifying interview process I've ever done and even though I didn't get in, the experience was worth it. Now I've had my eyes lasered so I can see, I've always got the option of applying again.

No, I wanted to work in intelligence. Locate the enemy, direct the army to them, intercept enemy communication etc. But my eyes were so bad I couldn't do any job.

That sounds really cool- the locating enemy thing, not the eye thing.

Don't try and balance it out. In the end, one thing will be sacrificed. The choice is yours. This is why most that experience success or strong potential for success while they are in school, eventually drop out.

Since October I've been waking up at 7:30 to get on time to class at 10, takes me an hour and a half on a good day's traffic. My class ends at 1 pm and I allow myself 30 min to eat at the McD on the way to work which also takes me 40 min. I start work from 4 to midnight, and a 20 min drive home when the road is empty, and then I usually have a paper to write since I should have class from 2 to 5 but I asked to take them distance to work. Like right now I need to do a 10 page paper on something about something in the history of something. I need to double check actually what I need to do, and I need to hand that in by tomorrow midnight. Anyway. Yea no I would love to have your schedule. But luckily right now I have winter break from Uni for a month so my mornings free up. Since I work with Americans my work schedule is set to fit New York time zone. I also only get American holidays off, so yea 2 days for thanksgiving. While in the same time period there have been already 8 non working Russian holidays, (Russians need a reason to drink) which I had to work on.

But yea, I know! If I keep this up I will just fry myself, but no, I'm also graduating, right now I have 8 classes that i'm doing paralleled to work. After the winter break I have only 3 classes left which end in the middle of Feb. Then I'm done. Oh ****...HA! Tuesday is my last exam and I'm done with my 8 classes HA! brains working a bit slow at the moment

Or I have been known to get baked to hell and relax after an eventful day and troll
