To be honest, I've never really needed to spend more than $100 on a phone. But now is a different story. It was my birthday yesterday and I received $250, I also have a heap of money in my bank. Now, I want a new phone.
I have a few things that I definently want in the phone, these include; the ability to store a heap of music, easy social network access (I tweet a lot now) and that's about it. I'd also like to note that if I have to put in a little bit of extra money (more than $350) I will happily do so. To prevent rambling, I'll cut to the chase. What is the best phone to get on a $350-$400 budget? |

Yeah, I briefly looked into that. I was thinking about going with the Nokia E6 or the Samsung Omnia 7 but I honestly have no idea. Those two were just a few phones I looked at that fall within my price bracket.
@Corey, I've thought about it but while I've got the money there, I want to use it. I don't see it as 'wasted money', more like 'invested money'. I've looked at all different priced phones and phones like the Nokia E6 have pretty much everything I need. Ideally, I want an iPhone but money doesn't allow it. |

Nokia does make good phones, but the company has been in a lot of hot water. Something about how they spent a ton of money on an operating system for their phones that is basically dead. Rumors have been going around that they might file for bankruptcy this or next year. I have been a fan of Nokia since 2003. Personally I would get the Samsung because it has the Windows operating system which is really good if your into app development. But the Windows operating system does not come with some features like video calling, no twitter integration, and a few smaller onces.

I would highly recommend the iPhone 4, but then if you say you cannot afford it then I would recommend an android phone, I would also suggest a Samsung Galaxy S II.

I'm in a similar situation right now, and really, my dream would be go get an iPhone 4 - I think it's perfect and its system is reliable, because we've just seen it all before. I have also been considering getting a Nokia, as they look quite nice and are generally pretty simple to use, but at the same time, the smartphone OS in any phone apart from the iPhone really do my head in, so I wish there were more simple, not-touchscreen Nokia phones coming out.
The problem with the iPhone is that the contracts here in Spain are expensive as f*** and I would definitely prefer an unlocked phone, as it's just so much easier to go around with. Unfortunately, unlocked iPhones cost an average of $600-$700, and that's something I didn't even spend on my laptop last year (and my laptop is brilliant, I love it to this day. An Acer with all the features I could ever need.)
