About 3 months ago i called my phone provider and told them i want out of my contract because im not getting coverage and i need it to run my business. After 2 hours on the phone they decided to waive the cancellation fee and i just have to pay for the phone i got outright which was $140 which i was fine with. They said i would get a bill for $650 which is automatically generated and i should just ignore it and i will get a readjusted bill later.
So 2 months later i get the $650 bill. So another month goes by and i look in my bank account and they have decided to take $650 out of it. So once again today i spend another hour on the phone trying to explain to the person who didnt understand me that they owe me $510. So after an hour of me asking to speak to his supervisor he finally said he will put the request in to his supervisor and i will get a message when it has been authorised and im to call back after i get the message. For some reason i dont belive ill be getting a message and they are just going to ignore it again so this afternoon im pretty sure ill be making an angry phone call asking where my message was. At the time of the first phone call to get this all cancelled i asked if i could get something in writing as i knew something like this would happen but they told me it wasnt possible but they put all the notes on my account. Today all the notes on my account said was i agreed to pay $140 for the phone and $510 for the cancellation. So what i have learnt from this is to demand something in writing, whether it be from the person at the bottom of the ranks or the boss, letterhead or hand written, it doesnt matter what it is, get a letter stating what will happen, even if it has to come from india and is hand written from the person who has had the job for 3 days.

I'd still lobbied to get the refund. That is unfortunate you had to go through all of that. Big companies lack the ability to connect because their people operate like robots. This is why zappos was able to make such a big splash with remarkable customer service.

I just called again this morning to see whats happening and for the first time ever i got through to someone who knows what they are doing and didnt need to keep going back to the supervisor.
Takes 3 days for the refund to go through so ill be getting my money back, only took 5 minutes of talking to her.

Good job on getting your money back! Just to add to what can be learned from this; you should always ask for the name of the person you spoke to on the phone whenever making any deal or getting some info confirmed.

They sent me the credited amount in a bill to let me know what ill be receiving, i havent received the money yet but should in the next couple of days. Only problem is their credit they have given me is $39.22 less then what it is supposed to be, now thats not much money but its the principle of it so i guess its another phone call to them to sort this out.
