9/11 Conspiracies?

Hey Guys,

This isn't really at all business related, but in two days I'm sure it's something everyone will be talking about.

First of all, I'm not American, I've never been to America. Does that mean it doesn't involve me? No.

I've always had an interest and this past week I've been absorbing lot's of news about it, stories, conspiracies and videos. I wanted to know if you guys believe in any conspiracies and what you think of them?

Don't want to offend anyone but personally I believe some of the conspiracies are just offensive. People still claim that a commercial plane never flew into the Pentagon. BULL. People were killed in that plane, and by believing in that you're basically saying they never existed.

As far as the twin tower conspiracies, I think it's ridiculous. There is no way I can see Bush plotting this conspiracy in order to go to war with Iraq, if so there would be no way Britain would've joined.

Just want to know what you guys think, whether you believe in conspiracies or not.

Yeah there's definitely some of those conspiracies going around. I don't believe there is any. I live in the DC area and as I type this, we are now under a Terra alert. There are some things swirling about terrorists aiming to do something.

I don't personally know anyone that was affected by 9/11.

There's going to be a good show coming out about what Bush felt on the day of 9/11. That would be a great documentary to watch as you can really get a sense of Bush just talking, not speaking.

I remember 9/11, things were pretty hectic. I wasn't in NYC which I am from but was in college. My parents called me to tell me that it had happened. And in a day or two, there was a blood donation place setup on my campus by the Red Cross for anyone who wanted to help.

@Jack I heard something like that, stay safe, I don't understand how the people can cope to even plan on doing anything similar to 9/11 it's just sick. I was only 4 at the time, but I remember seeing these big towers fall, and wondering why the nasty men wanted to kill everyone.

Must have been awful, in a disturbing sense I think if I had been there I would've been completely captivated by it all, I'm really interested.

Sounds like a cool documentary, hopefully they'll show it on one of the UK networks so I can catch it.

My Dad was on a plane (to Colorado?) that morning, so that was scary. He's fine though.

Conspiracies only interest me when they're about movies n' games n' stuff.

Watched the Al-Gore movie about it there the other day.. Fairly scarey what was in it, between all the Bush - Osama links, etc.. It does get one thinking about the whole thing.

@Corey Wow, that must have been horrible. Yeah, other conspiracies that don't basically state that some people who clearly died never died, are not really an issue with me.

@Adam Yeah the stuff on television at the moment is really interesting, it does definitely get you thinking. The people who have conspiracies do, I admit, have grounds for them. What I dislike is when they are proven wrong, and they simply refuse to accept the reality.

There is currently a program about 9/11 which is on ITV Cec.. it is really interesting too it basically tells the full story of what happened that day. I learnt a few more details about 9/11 by watching it.

I think it is still on ITV player but I am not sure.

If you search for a PDF document called operation northwoods, you'll see a 60's government plot to frame Cuba, involving Florida. Equally, if you read about Hitlers exploitation of the Weimar constitution to gain dictatorial control of Germany, you can see how governments in the past have inflicted wounds upon themselves to grab greater power. I'm not stating that 9/11 itself was a conspiracy, but I would say that released historical documents show that governments are capable, and have considered similar in the past. When you study history to any level, you start to question how much truth is mixed in with the lies of any government, be it capitalist, fascist, communist or otherwise.
