Howdy TBF Family!
I just completed my final year of high school and im patiently waiting for my results.Im in a bit of a predicament because im an aspiring entrepreneur but I have no idea which degree I should register for once I receive my results. In my country when you apply for tertiary education you HAVE to put down 3 courses that you would like to enroll in,and from those three you will hopefully be accepted for the one you really want to study. So basically from ya'll i'd like to know as an aspiring entrepreneur what 3courses would you suggest I put down....???bear in mind that im registering on the 30th of January....so im more than desperate for advice! Thanx in advance.... |

Well that all depends on what you're interested in. You don't need any kind of qualification to be an Entrepreneur, besides it's a way of life not a career. If business is your passion try taking a business course, if you're interested in radio, television, then take media! Choose what you enjoy doing, that's all the advice I can offer! (:

Thanks for the feedback cecBUSINESS!
Im well aware of the fact that being an entrepreneur is a way of life. The thing is I recently carried out a quick research to try and solve this problem of mine. And I was able to find out that some colleges do offer courses in entrepreneurship,so I was wandering if that's what I should go for since im already an avid entrepreneur. Mind you,if I had my way I wouldn't even enroll for college it's just a detour that I have to go past on my way to success! *MEASURE WHAT YOU TREASURE* |

I was in the same situation. Knew I wanted to do business but wasn't 100% sure which aspect of business I wanted to do. I therefore took a Business Management degree. This was a general idea of all aspects in business, covered well. It shows you what your key skills in business are and from there, you can do a more direct and focused course in what you excel in.

Yeah, some places do offer entrepreneurship courses, which is great since most schools lack any kind of enthusiasm towards entrepreneurship. All I was trying to say is we can't tell you what to do, you got to do what you love. I agree with James though, taking a business course might give you a better idea of what it's like.

@Trump Junior, I would recommend any class on sales, communication or public speaking. Those things are CRUCIAL. The more you can speak in front of a crowd the better. The more you can learn to sell someone something, the better. I can't name one successful entrepreneur who doesn't have all three.

I would also add that you should take at least a basic computer course. This is because no matter what you do (offline or online), you will need to know something about computers. If you don't, then you will have to pay someone. So, (in conclustion) it will save you money somewhere, and you have a better understanding how computers can help you.
P.S. I am very good with computers. If you need any help then you can PM me.
