Hey

Just wondering which type of computers you guys prefer?
Do ye prefer Apple computers or would you go for ones like dell and toshiba?
I personally prefer Apple ones, its something about the sleek design and the great software on them!!

I've had dell, managed to break it. I've had hp, went through 3 of their laptops and 10+ hdd's in under 12 months. I've had my macbook for coming up on 8 months.

I Love it. Need to buy the new model though, nearly out of space on the HDD

I've used Apple Mac's since I can remember - I think I got my first one in about 1995; it was a Power Macintosh 5200CD - it has a 75MHz processor and if I remember correct a 1GB hard drive, which - if I remember correctly - ran OS 9.1. It's amazing to think that computer was considered top of the range when you compare to the computers these days, ha. These days I run an Mac Pro 12 Core 2010, iMac 27" 2011, MBP 2010 and MBA 2010.

I've pretty much stuck with Apple - when my company first had our offices networked we had Windows machines put in, but there was some problems and about a year later - when we moved to larger offices - we switched to 24" iMac G5's for everyone, then when we did an upgrade last year, we upgraded to 18x 21.5" iMacs - and 2x 27" models for me and my assistant.

I don't think I'd switch back to Windows at all - everything just networks together and works seamlessly and through various servers etc. everyone can access the appropriate files with the right permissions, and various other tools.

I'd say - certainly for home, and for work if you can afford it, go for Apple Mac's.

I am not a fan of Windows. Also, I dislike Dell computers. Well, a Dell computer with Windows.

I personally like Linux.

I love both, along with Linux. Each has their own strengths.

My custom-built desktop runs Windows 7, while my Macbook Pro runs... OS X, of course. I will say OS X has some really cool features that I wish Windows had, like Spaces and Hot Corners. I'll also say that the Macbook Pro is the best laptop (physically) I've ever had. Nothing else can compete with the superb touchpad, and the keyboard and built quality are excellent as well.

After buying my MacBook Pro a few weeks ago, I can honestly say I won't turn back. It's made me so much more productive because it's just so fast, and easy to use. The design is great too, and it's so portable.

cool!!
the first apple i ever used was a powerbook 1400 series which was my dads and he gave it to me!! then we got a powermac ( one of the ones with the coloured back) cant remember the name!! I was given a powerbook g4 but for some reason it became unbelievably slow even after i wiped the whole thing clean!!
Right now I use a PowerMac G5 which is really good !!
I'm thinking of upgrading to either a IMac or A macbook pro!!

In school we have two computer rooms one is used by our head IT teacher and it runs Linux the other runs windows!! I have never seen the linux network crash where as the windows goes down nearly once a week!! :-/

I basically agree with everyone else's arguments for Mac.

The only downside of Mac really is that you feel pretentious owning one in public. The "I have a mac... poor people." sort of thing.

I have had a Macbook Pro now for a few months and I dont think I will be going back to Windows anytime soon! The design, the interface is all just so much better in my opinion. Previous to my Mac I had a Sony Vaio which was good but they are much slower. I definitely think they are worth the extra cost.

I never feel pretentious using my mac in public...I mean...it's a computer. Most people have some kind of choice over the kind of computer they work with, and if they wanted a mac they would probably swing one.
