Default Battery dead?

So Yesterday I charged my laptop till like 89% and I shut it down, today I restarted it and it was 10%....
Could it possible be my battery?
I have never changed it before in the 3 years...
Anyone know where to find one from dell?
Thank you!

Hm. That's a problem. It would most likely be the battery.
I would suggest getting a replacement from Dell.
I don't how much it costs where you are, so you should look into it.
Hopefully there isn't something wrong with the whole computer.

If I'm dead that means my computer is broken so you will hear it

Windows Vista has caching for the battery and other settings. This would tell the battery to not charge after a certain point. If you use Windows 7, this is basically Windows Vista. It still could have the issue. Maybe you need to go into the regedit. I forget what you need to delete in regedit, but be careful in there and make sure you create a backup.

Regdit is a program that is located in Windows. It is system code that can be edited. There are a few bits of code that deals with the cache in Windows. This is the cache for the sound speaker, battery, and other stuff. Cahce is storage used to load pre-default information that was saved.

Another much easier thing to do is to leave the computer on, and plugged in. Take out the battery. Wait a few minutes, shut down the computer, unplug it. Then hold down the power button for a minute. After that reinsert the battery. Turn the computer on, and see if it works. This is a Windows Vista issue. I don't use Windows anymore, because of all these types of issues and more. Vista, and a beta version of Windows 7 was the last Windows OS I used.

Hope this helps.

Yes, you would not want to delete the wrong thing and have your computer crash!!! :O

I just want to strongly warn against doing anything in Regedit. One wrong move and your computer is done for. Literally. Either talk to someone who knows exactly what they're doing, or take it into a shop and explain the problem. But don't mess with it yourself.

I'm talking from experience.

Well if you back it up you should be safe from anything from going wrong as you will have the default saved elsewhere!!
