Today i fell off the bike, and i wasnt even speeding. It was raining heavily and there were a few puddles on the road which i saw most and slowed right down for them (i was already sitting 10km/h under the speed limit) but i came to 1 puddle which i didnt see and the bike slipped from under me, nothing i could have done to prevent it. Ive only got a sore leg (it will be a lot more sore tomorrow) and the bike got some cosmetic damage and thats all. I slid for around 150meters on my back and my jacket didnt even get a hole in it.
The bike had some side damage but it still works fine, just a few scratches which will only cost around $300 to get fixed and then it will be back to normal (except for scratches on the muffler which i dont care about). So that speeding ticket i got a few weeks back didnt help me at all because i was under the speed limit. Just goes to show that if you are going to crash then there is nothing you can really do about it. I knew i was going down as soon as i hit the puddle. The bright side about this is i get tomorrow off work so that makes a 5 day weekend for me.

I live south and most people work north so there is usually lots of traffic coming in the opposite direction. There was also a few cars behind me who were actually pretty close to me but when its wet i usually drop back or try get far ahead of them just in case something like this happens which is lucky i did that a few minutes before otherwise one of them could hit me.
I slid and reached a corner and ended up on the other side of the road and then when i stopped sliding i was right in the middle of the road. My first reaction was get up, quickly look behind myself and run off to the side of the road which was good. It was scary sliding, probably only went for 3 or 4 seconds but it felt like 10minutes. Very glad that i wore my better jacket as my other bike jacket probably would have still protected me but wouldnt of stopped me as soon and i could of ended up off the side of the road and into a fence. Its now 5am the day after and my leg is hurting a lot more but there isnt any bruising or swelling, i just cant really walk on it. I know everyone is going to ask to see my leg and ive got nothing to show them, might just have to take a picture of the bike and show them that.
