Default Car Insurance

This is a thread for those TBF members who are ages 17 to 25 and who drive.

I am just wondering how much people pay for car insurance, and what car it's on. And who is their insurance provider?

Car insurance? Zero dollars.

I'm 22 (23 next month), I don't drive. Owned a car for a short spell, realized I didn't really need one.

A minor inconvenience at times, but I get to where i'm going and don't waste money along the way

Mine is about £170 per month on a Seat Ibiza, but I am not sure who it is with as my dad pays for it and sorts it all out.

Thanks for the replies, I was wondering as I have seen on the news that the insurance rates have been increasing steadily over recent months. I've just come to renew my insurance policies on both my cars and the renewal prices are coming out at £4100 and £6300.

As with all drivers under 25, particularly men, I pay the price for being in a statistically high risk group - but hey, you can't drive without insurance, so I guess we've got no choice but to pay it!

That's what I don't like about insurance companies. They assume, rightly or wrongly, that you are the boy-racer that the minority are.
After research, some of the best are with the co-op and they put a tracker in your car. It tracks how fast you go round corners etc so it stops you being stupid because they can cancel it immediately.

I'm not sure, I drive my mother's car since I do not need one at the moment, I'm almost 19 and she pays around 400 euros for Mazda 3 insurance

Having just come to renew my insurance, the quotes have changed since I created this thread almost 2 months ago - the quote on one car has gone down to £3800 but other one has gone up to almost £7000. How?!?!

I guess it just shows how much insurance rates fluctuate - ah well, I've got to have it - can't drive without it eh.
