Anyone playing Black Ops? Ive got it on PC and the single player is awesome, multiplayer could be good if it wasnt lagging.
They beat their old record of first day sales and sold 5.6million copies at $360million. Maybe i should get into game development.

I don't like the CoD series.
Game development is a very good thing to get into :P They cost alot to make too. EA's (one of the biggest game publisher) most costly project is guestimated to cost between $300-500m for one game which is Star Wars: The Old Republic. There's 2 guys in Scotland who left Uni with a game programming degree, worked in Tesco (uk's largest supermarket) during the day, developed a simple iPhone game at night. From that one game they bought themselves brand new, expensive cars and employ 10 people at their own game studio. In my opinion, the only FPS game worth considering around this time (sort of) is Battlefield 3. The game before, Battlefield 2 was one of the biggest and boundry pushing games when it came out. It was great because in every game you had a "did I really just see that" moment. While you're chasing someone around a corner, 2 streets away there is a tank on it's way to an outpost, a helicopter transporting troops above you, and above that, there are some jets chasing each other and bombing outposts. If you loved Battlefield Bad Company 1 and 2, the engine which has fantastic graphics and physics, with the ability to destroy walls etc, can only *JUST* be ran on an Xbox and PS3. So with Battlefield 3, all versions of the game (PC, Xbox, PS3) will be the same, but optimized for the PC. Their pushing game graphics to the limits, so will likely be the most graphically enhanced game to date, and with their track record, best gameplay too. And it's less than a year to release, and they haven't even released a logo nevermind screenshots or videos, which makes it exciting. Man I went off track with this post. :P |

Battlefield really has this WOOOOW effect, but personally i start raging (like FFFFFUUUU-) when yet another tank shoots me or yet another airplane goes kamikaze on me when I was finally at the point I wanted to to
![]() The call of duty series have this awesomeness in single player, which is actually quite the same every time you play, while BF can do this online, but i enjoy playing online on cod more than bf because everything feels a little more balanced in my opinion. But still counter strike (source) remains the most balanced game ever for me. I don't know if you guys know the game Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, but it's like a futuristic Battlefield game with aliens vs humans in it It wasn't really popular, but really balanced, every strong item you could use had a countermeasure which forced people to play as a team. Too bad people stopped caring about winning as a team but just wanted high scores ![]() |

Well they have just fixed most of the problems with online in Black Ops (except for the spawning in front of enemies). Most people arent lagging anymore and its pretty awesome now. Im about half way through solo play but i dont think ill finish it for a while now that online works properly for me

Everytime I get a game with single player and multiplayer, I don't ever touch multiplayer before I complete single, so I have a real feel of the game. :P
Also, Twistereli, I played CSS, but now I hate it. It's way too old, modern FPS games when you move around, it's like you're heavy (a solder is, alot of equipment) you can 'feel' yourself move around. In CSS it's just static, there's no feeling. |

Compare it with Quake, whatever you shoot at is a hit, no movement has effect on that (of course there's delay of bullets arriving with some weapons etc). I'm not so into bombastic and heavy feeling games. I enjoy playing them, but not in any sort of competitive scene. COD is in between those 2 opposites I talked about. |

After playing COD2 for many years straight, Black Op's feels a lot different. I'd still prefer COD2 over Black Op's any day because of that true WWII feel to it. The war effects might not be that great compared to the latest COD installments, but the graphics, guns and models are just great!
