Well I plan on moving to America for University and move to NY for a while. I've got the U.S passport because my dad was born in the U.S and my parents lived in Manhattan for 20 years. I'd like to visit Asia and Australia for a year or two I loved it when I was there a few years back.

I want to go to New York, considering a majority of my transactions are based there; it would be cool to physically see what's going on. My aim is really to spend around 4-5 nights there, possibly in one of the famous hotels, although it is a bit irrelevant.
Does anybody know if you're allowed to tour around the NYSE or NASDAQ? I know in London getting into the LSE is basically a case of knowing somebody in there. If not, I still would mind walking down Wall Street. My list is effectively one of possibly impossible [how did I use those words together?] tasks; can you also go on tour of the Manhattan project? I imagine you can visit Ellis Island easily, so that's all good. Yeah, I'd live there; I've already lived in San Francisco; then I could get my Root Beer & Lucky Charms easily again. Top Floor Apartment in Manhattan please!

Hey James,
As far as I know, yes I believe it's still possible to go inside the trading floors. I know a lot of highschools take their students there. If you do end up in NY, let me know and I'll find out for you. What do you mean by touring the Manhattan Project? Is that a different one than the nuclear weapon project? |

Well, the Nuclear Weapon Project research centre, as inevitably I can't see the project anymore - it's been used. [but yes, the same]

I've just looked it up, and only a small fragment of what was manufactured was in the whole of the State, disappointment. Perhaps I'll take a plane to Tennessee during it...

I have done my share of living abroad for a while! I lived in Turkey for 6 and a Half months and taught English to 11 year olds. Turkey is a lovely place and has some amazing people but... for a western Women it seems very restricted. When you are used to coming and going as you please to suddenly be told you can't go here and there because of your gender it is a big shock!
It has not put me off the country and I still hold a big place in my heart for Turkey and its people. But my days of living abroad is over for now at least. As for places I would like to visit I have a few, but my main aim is to get to see Germany. To experience the history there and how it changed the world in the 2nd world war. This has been a desire of mine ever since we studied Germany at school and so far I haven't managed to get there! I was hoping to go to Australia as well to see Steve Irwin in action but as he tragically died before I managed to get to Aus, that is not going to happen now. I would still like to go but the yearn has died down a bit. ![]() |
