Default Derek Jeter's 3000th Hit

Yesterday was a great Day, my Family and I were at my grandparents house all crowded around the TV watching the Yankees playing the rays. First at Bat Jeter becomes only one hit away from 3000, second at bat Number 3000!
I think what made it even more special though it was a full count and the Hit was a Home Run!
The 2nd player to have a Home Run as his 3000th hit (Wade Boggs being the other) and the 2nd player to have a 5 for 5 game with his 3000th Hit (Craig Biggio being the other).
I am still excited about this, I just wish I was there in the Bronx.

PS I love what MO started, Mo said since Jeter went 5 for 5 one of his hits should of been a triple so he would of had a Cycle (Home Run, Single, Double, and Triple) on YES all morning everyone has been saying he should of hit a Triple.

Yeah I read about that. Pretty amazing to have that happen on a big day like that.

Yeah, absolutely. He is very much responsible for the Yankee World Series wins late 90s to 2000's.

Jeter's a great player, but when I went to a Yankees/Mariners game last year he seemed to be a jerk. A dozen kids all calling his name/asking for an autograph or handshake and he doesn't even look at them and give them a smile or a nod. I realise that it might get annoying, but it's part of the job. Compared to most people (doctors, lawyers, CEOs) he doesn't have to do much for his huge salary, it wouldn't kill him to make a kid's day.

Derek Jeter stopped signing Autographs way back in 2004-2005 or so. He got tired of some many adults, teens other people harassing him 24/7 that he just stopped signing autographs. When hes here in Tampa in the off season, he use to go to a restaurant called First Watch and as soon as he walks in the staff and everyone else kept asking for his Autograph so he got tired of it and just stopped signing all together. Now he only signs for sick kids in the Hospital.

Again, it's part of his job. He's paid millions and millions of dollars to work for around 15 years, would it be that hard to give a bunch of kids a wave/smile/autograph? Just because he's rich and a star doesn't mean he can be a jerk. Oh, and I know he's not the only athlete that does this, it's just that he's been brought up :P.
