Hey, this may be a good topic for you guys to chime in on. Someone posted this question on Quora and I stepped in to answer it. It would be interesting to hear from the other side, the teen entrepreneurs.

I think that is a good question. Even though schools may not actively encourage entrepreneurship, this should not limit what teens can do as young entrepreneurs. Ok ,so im nowhere near, UK,US, or wherever, but i see an unfortunate lack of interest in this topic, should i say, from my peers.

Isn't South Africa a big hub for entrepreneurship? How did you first get interested in business?

Mmmm... I say yes and no. Business may be flourishing accordingly, but taking into consideration other factors that play a part, you may end up disappointed in some cases. In my opinion , its a case of extreme opposites. I first got interested in entrepreneurship when i suggested to my parents to open up a tuck-shop, so i could enjoy limitless pocket money for school and out.( a little selfish-but good).

Many schools in the UK are actively engaging in entrepreneurial activities - my school has people hired just to make entrepreneurial groups! I really do believe though, that if a teenager wants to be an entrepreneur then they will find the way to do so. If they don't, then they just don't have what it takes!
