So I switched over to a Mac. It gave up 10 years (probably more) of owning and buying PCs. What happened? Well, for one thing, my over-powered PC kept freezing. That thing was $2000 and it was still crawling (not to mention I had a flash harddrive). I finally switched to a Mac and not because I brought it because it was too expensive for me. My roommate gave me his old one (old MacBook). This thing must be at least 4 years old.
And the thing runs better than my PC. And it's definitely half as slow in terms of processing power but it just works. As an entrepreneur, I can't be messing around trying to build websites, graphics using a high powered PC. I should be a low-powered PC that only delegates and it's exactly what I'm doing. And it's making me a better entrepreneur. Thoughts? |

My Mac launched me in the entrepreneur atmosphere
![]() It's not superspecial, but makes everything so much easier compared to a PC. And I have to admit just the look and feel of OSX is a drive for me to continue working :p |

@Twistereli,
Yeah I have to agree about that. I heard many people talking about how a Mac makes them more entrepreneurial. I thought it was BS at first. But now I see it. It just works. And as an entrepreneur, you want things to JUST WORK. It frees your time up to think about how well the Mac is designed to JUST WORK and makes you want to do the same with your business. |

First thought: Jealous. I would love to get myself a MacBook Pro, I'm sure I will some day, anyone want to donate to the savings?
Having a good computer is completely under estimated, I'm limited by my computer as it's extremely unreliable, for example, on Skype, I'm worried it'll will shut down in the middle of a call, wouldn't be the first time it's happened. |

The big win is reliability and speed. It means you can actually get stuff done - and its improved my productivity multifold.
I went halves with the parents as a birthday gift. There are means and ways around getting one Cec ![]() |

I hated when Windows would lag for me. That is why I switched to Linux. Now I can get stuff done.
I have never used a MAC, but I find that Windows was the issue with most of the tasks I needed to get done. Sure, you can install MAC on a PC, but I liked the idea of free. Free helped me cut business cost.

I set Linux up for people, and I have never really heard from them about a computer issue. It is all about finding the right Linux for you.

I always thought like this:
Windows is for mainstream users, gamers, people that need high-end hardware for a low price etc.. Linux is for the people who like doing geeky things and using terminal like a maniac (terminal is kind of like MS DOS) OSX is for artists (graphic, music...), people who dare to give spend some money (entrepreneurs) and hipsters. I'm actually glad Apple's prices are quite high, keeps all those kids away just wanting a macbook to be "cool". ![]() But another thing I like is, the people who use the macs like designers and entrepreneurs manage to create apps for osx, resulting in just the apps you want because you're in the same category as them. There are soooo many GOOD productivity apps compared to windows. And also, windows applications tend to be bulky, use hard interfaces and actually scare you to use it, while osx apps mostly try to be as simple as possible and don't require any sort of manual (even if there are ones) |

That is not the way it is anymore. Linux has evolved over the past few years. It has evolved to the point that you really don't have to use the terminal unless you have an issue.
