iPad 2?

Has anyone purchased the iPad 2 yet? I was thinking of buying one on Friday. The iPad 2 officially launches off on Friday at 5pm

Nope, i'm not usually an Apple supporter until the 3rd gen products come out, although I haven't read much on the iPad2.

Still, i'm in need of a new laptop and i'm leaning more towards that direction over an iPad. Still not convinced it would be more useful or practical then a netbook/laptop for mobile computing.

I never heard of the ipad 2, and I think the ipad 1 is a waste of money. I find that there are similar products that are much better for a cheaper price.

I picked up two Wifi versions on a business recent trip to NYC (wanted to wait until official UK release of 3G one in case of technical spec relating to the 3G being different). I plan to pick up a 3G version on Friday . I'd like to get two, one for my partner as well, but Apple usually limit to one on release-day don't they.

@Tak, I kind of agree with you - at least in my case, they are a bit of a waste of money when you consider what they are and how much you use them. I only use mine for about 10 minutes in the morning for checking emails, and occasionally on the train (although now on the train I mostly use my MacBook Air) - still though, they're nice gadgets to have... useful in their own way, but for someone like me, definitely a bit of a waste of money.

They're nice, but expensive. Maybe Apple will consider dropping their prices in the future. Having said that, they are definitely the leaders in the tablet market.

I gave in and bought a black 16GB iPad 2 WiFi model. I'm loving the bigger keypad buttons in comparison to the iPhone 4's keypad buttons. I'm posting this from my iPad 2 right now
