Default Living off Sweepstakes?

Just curious, has anyone tried to do sweepstakes "professionally". Ive read stories of people who enter so many competitions that they actually win enough money and prizes that they can live off it, some people make more money doing this then i do at an actual job.

I think its stupid to give up your stable job to get into this but it definetly cant hurt to do it as a hobby. The people that do it as their main source of income do it for at least 8 hours a day and just search and sign up for as many contests as they can.

I asked a friend about it today and he told me that his dad does it and he does it a couple of hours a week and so far he has won about $6000 worth of prizes in the last 2 years. Not bad for something just to do on the side.

Have you any experience with this, have you ever won anything?

I have not won anything but my friend's sister wins ALL the freaking time. She won a cruise, some XBox games, and some other crap. Not sure how she keeps winning. I really think there' s a formula to it- in that they choose people who can help promote the product. Just my opinion.

Well it depends on the product and the type of contest. At work we have an entry box which is free for anyone to enter and it asks 4 simple questions about family (such as how many people live in your house, how many kids, etc). It says that the competition is open to anyone and anyone can win but the prize is a trip for 4 to LA. They would definetly give it to someone who has a family of 4.

Some people are very lucky. It may not make any sence to why some people always when contests, but they for some odd reason they can. Maybe this is a nitch for some people. If you are good at winning things why not sell some of your prizes and take your new found revenue and turn that into an investment.
