First ask how he got his money )) then lets assume he's a business man. Thirdly I'm 90% sure it's a set up to calm the people. To make it look like there actually can be an opposition party to the ruling party. Its a show, a smoke screen. Anyone with some political understanding knows that Putin has created a system where it's impossible for an opposition party to survive. Any real opposition leader who will gain enough support will be jailed or evidence will be found to discredit him. Fabricated or real.

Putin has worked 12 years to get the system to where it is now. 8 years as president and 4 as prime minister. That was when he switched jobs with his old school friend Mr. Medvedov. Putin only stepped down as president to not have to change the constitution, (yes the Russian president can) In sept Putin announced, or better yet, stated the fact that this year Medvedov will become prime minister and he will return to his throne. But not for 8 years this time but 12. They changed the law to 6 year terms.
The massive Duma election fraud was to keep the ruling party as the majority to be able to pass laws without opposition. The massive protests are a first. But I fear the whole story isn't told. Even though over 50,000 protestors showed up this last Saturday. There were over 150,000 security personal around that area. Mainly consisting of anti-riot trained units. They were there to suppress the crowd. It's been a well known fact that the law enforces abuse their power without punishment. This includes beating the **** out of people just for laughs. I might also add that the day before this protest. It was made clear that any male over 18 who get detained will be forced to serve some form of mandatory military service. It was left unclear for how long and what type of service. They suppressed by intimidation and it worked. Anyway, Putins not going anywhere, not this presidential election.

I might have not made it clear though, this Saturdays Protest went on without any heavy hand by the police, but then again the protest was more of a meeting of ALL the other political parties there are in Russia, those who are recognized and those who aren't by the "Russian Gov't". Some speeches were made, some chanting, and then they thanked the police for not beating them. People could only meet in that particular square that was walled off by these 150,000 security forces. To enter, everyone passed metal detectors, all alcoholic beverages where taken, all weaponry, or what can be used as a weapon (trust me, if they like your phone enough, they will find a way to consider it a weapon). So people where basically stripped of their feeling of freedom. They are planning another "meeting" on the 24th and are hoping for 300,000 people to show up. Though they only have the agreed permit by city hall for 50,000. And It was warned that if the number of people exceed the police will intervene with force. It is also been warned that Kremlin will keep a 3:1 Ratio for Security force for every "protester" This is still without the use of the army, which, is very conveniently near by, and where there is a tank division of 5000 tanks right under Moscow in bunkers. I am actually one of the few lucky people who's Godfather happens to be a high ranking general
Like I said, Moscow is corrupt, I can't deny in abusing it a little. Mainly to bribe the cops for speeding. But anyway. I have no doubt Putin will try and hold power with everything he has. There has been discussions though about how much of the actual military will obey an order, if such was given to open fire. The question is how far will the soldiers go with their orders. They after all, all made an oath to protect the citizens of the country, not protect politicians. It's a mess to be honest right now, I'm doing my best to get my business plan going as soon as possible without rushing it.I need to be around normal people... My plan was never to stay in Moscow, I don't like it here, once I finish my university, nothing is keeping me here, so I was basically going to just finish my diploma paper, find investors and attempt my business. Now, with all this happening, I'm trying to speed up the process, but not by much, will still take over a year to even be close to ready to moving away.

Yes, and no, the only brick and mortar will be the building where everything gets manufactured. Sold via the internet. I'm looking at Thailand, i also have some family living in Thailand, but i'll be the first to open a legal, tax paying business there.
I am also learning to invest in the stock market at the moment, my company works with many brokers, so I get exposed whether I like it or not. But, thankfully I really am enjoying it, and doing fairly good, considering that I class myself as a long-term trader. End goal: I would love to take my business in Thailand and make it into a publicly traded company. |
