Lots of people in business seem to have these machines, so I thought I'd ask out of curiosity if anyone here is buying one of the new MacBook Pro laptops that Apple announced last week. I've ordered mine but I can't get it until next week because I'm holiday *hmph*.

I would have but I only got mine a couple of months ago
The new spec looks good though.

I need to upgrade mine, I have like a 2007 model, and it's getting some problems. I've made a deal to myself that if I can earn enough online I'll get one as my first purchase with online revenue.

I don't think everyone has them, but they are become increasingly popular - I've definitely noticed that. I think I only use them because I'm used to it, I grew up with them and still use a Mac laptop and desktop and home and at work and for a phone (well an Apple phone, but you know what I mean). I think a lot of people who grow up with Apple products stick with them, but more and more people are trying them out too.

I'm keeping my white macbook hoping it "dies" within 1.5 year. In that case my school would fully repair it under warranty and I would have a sort of new laptop already. And then I would either buy a mbp also or just wait a few more years.
The longer you postpone buying one, the better it will be for the price ![]() |

I think the great thing about Apple products is the reliability. I hate having to wait two, three minutes for an XP Desktop to fire up, and then spend ages doing virus checks. Forget it...
Besides, the actual hardware is really good and the battery life unmatched. Apple have just refreshed their super-thin, super-light MacBook Airs which take a lot of the technology from iPad. Recommended if you need some computing power on the move. A lot of people on here seem to be going Mac because they value their time and understand the need for a decent, reliable computer that just happens to look *gorgeous* - they let you get stuff done. Isn't that what computers are for? |
