Recalled products

I was thinking the other day about the fact that a lot of people don't like reading instruction manuals and don't always look for information concerning recalled products. So I decided to make this week's YPA post about Consumer Safety and Recalls. Have you ever purchased a product and found out somehow that it was being recalled?

I read some manuals of things over time. Motorola has some very funny ones.

Here is a list of some funny ones in a phone manual that I have.

Phones aren't cheap, so keep yours in a safe place. Keep the phone away from childern who want to see if the phone sinks of floats, and away from dogs that find plastic-coated products to be irresistible chew toys.

Water will damage your phone and accessories. Even a small amout of water from a soda in your car cup-holder, melting snowflakes, tears of joy, squirt-gun crossfire, or steam from the kitchen or bathroom can damage your phone.

If your charger or any other accessory is damaged, replace it or take it to a qualified service dealer. Do not attempt to operate your phone charger if it has received a shap blow, been dropped, thrown from a speeding motocycle, or is otherwise damaged; doing so may damage your phone.

If your phone rings and you discover it's in the back seat, do NOT crawl over the seat to answer it while driving.

In conclusion. Reading the manuals can be very fun.

I admit it, some manuals are funny (do you ever check out: www.engrish.com?) but it's better to be safe & read them than just to use a product without reading it and getting yourself in trouble.

I'm pretty sure this is included because people have done this ...

haha, that's a good one. It also made me read it, which is what manuals are for! I always thought Google did a great job creating manuals or just the help section in general. They make it funny and don't leave out the obvious.
