So much talk about teen unemployment

There's so much talk recently about teen unemployment. Have you heard a lot of it where you are?

This would be a good time for me to put up a blog post "relating" teen unemployment with the summit because that is what is on everyone's minds. So naturally, the keyword teen unemployment is going to be pretty active for at least a few months. Just by getting a blog post up, I'll attract many of the people reading about teen unemployment.

Yeah its big were I am too most of my friends who are 16, 17, 18 and even as old as 21 can't even find part time jobs at McDonalds or Wallgreens, or Wal-Mart!

I've been trying to get my friends to become Entrepreneurs forever now and none of them listen...
I told them "Maybe you guys will listen after I sell 1000 albums"

What if you told them there is a teen that is making 5 figures a month that is speaking. Will they listen then?

I could try that, so far most of my friends just say they don't care or its impossible or all of the other rebuttals we've heard a million times.

Hopefully they will listen, I think they will listen after I sell 1000 albums and am making money.

Teen unemployment is quite a big issue in the UK at the moment, but I don't necessarily think teen entrepreneurship is the right solution for everyone.

While I think there definitely should be more information and opportunity for teens to set up their own businesses as an alternative, especially in the current economy, I don't think its for everyone.

Most of my friends are looking for jobs, and they know I run my own business, but they just have absolutely no motivation to do it, its not the money as much as the lifestyle, they want a job that still allows them time to see their friends, so they have an income that doesn't dominate their lives.

Saying that, I think things like lawn care etc. might appeal though the markets for that type of thing differ drastically across the UK.

So yeah provide stuff for people that want to be entrepreneurs, encourage them to see it as an option, but for most teens making money/a job is just something to buy drinks on a night out, and if they don't have a job they'll just ask their parents/not bother.

Where I am everyone who wants a job seems to have one. And if you don't like your job, well then they go get one they prefer.
