Just wondering what technology everyone else uses to make their business lives a bit easier?
Laptops (I guess most of us)? Tablets? (they look v.cool but I can't justify buying one)? Phones? What apps do you use? At the moment, I'm really impressed with Evernote, I'm currently doing some product development, and usually I'd be sitting here with my camera slowly uploading all the photos, but now I can just use the app on my blackberry to take a photo, make a note and it'll sync it all later with my computer. Pretty awesome! I'm also using an inventory app on my Blackberry, which is really useful. So, what do you use? |

Notebook - Its a given, everyone needs one to run a business.
Phone - Android phone, one way to quickly track what jobs i have each day. Use it to call customers, play angry birds on it while sitting around doing nothing. Tablet. Is now my main source of booking and tracking jobs. Im also using it as my main source of internet on the job (as a wifi hotspot or just to look up something). Also its now my main source of angry birds when im bored. Reception Tester - Makes putting up antennas so very easy. Plug it in to the antenna, move the antenna until the numbers are close to 100% and then dont move it anymore. Makes life a lot easier. In Car Hands Free - As im always on the road driving to jobs and im always getting phone calls for new jobs i rely on this a lot. Google calendar to sync everything together at the moment until i create something more powerful and more customised to what i need. Excel - Its so simple yet so powerful. Using it to track anything money.

I don't run a business (yet) but I do use things to learn.
Laptop: That's an obvious one. Smart Phone: Only got my first one a few days ago but it's already proving useful. Social Networks: Twitter is a must for any entrepreneur. They're pretty basic. But the basics are a necessity. |

I do most of my work on my desktop computer, but I also heavily use my smartphone (samsung captivate) and my iPad. For my kind of work (investing and writing), my iPad with a keyboard case works very well. For web development I wouldn't recommend it.
