Well... there's not other way to say it. I ran out of money
, like most startups. So I have to go get a job. I have already started looking. The position I'm hoping to get is a sales and marketing one. The reason is because I am still going to be an entrepreneur and having those skills will help me in the future. So I won't be doing any more coding. Hopefully, all the things I learned and done over the past year will give me a big boost in the job market. So how exactly do I feel about this? Honestly, a little discouraged. But it wasn't until June or so when I really knew what I was doing and how I was going to make money. Unfortunately, I just ran out of startup funds. Getting a job will give me that influx of funds I need to keep both websites going- TBF and Jack's Best. Without funds, I couldn't get TBF to where I wanted to be and I didn't want to go asking for money from investors (although that was an option at one point). So things will be a little quiet for a while but very soon, you'll start seeing new improvements to TBF. But I'm still an entrepreneur first.

Well
Hurry up with your first paycheck then ![]() With right marketing and PR. and a cosmetic clean up. This website is a cash cow. Entrepreneurs are getting younger and younger. But a place to meet others like minded, and discuss idea, and have the experienced give advice, guide, yea, with the internet, this is a lot easier then going to school, this could be a school, easily. Just don't wait to long, you have a good thing going here, and if worked on this site could bring you a couple thousands a month easy. The place to network, world wide.Last edited by Lost_in_moscow; 12-16-2011 at 06:10 PM.. |

Haha. I was doing my resume today and realized I did a lot in a year. Most of it filled up my resume more than my last 4 years working.
It's good to finally take a step back and reflect on the things both good and bad. It's early but next year's summit is going to be 10x better than this year (for those who attended). |

Personally, I love working. I mean, I only work at a fast food restaurant but that is still work. Before my current job, I had a delivery route. It brought in small amounts of money. Now with my newest job, I am finding so much more opportunities and money that I have access to.
That's rather beside the point. I guess the idea of my little story there was to express that having a job can be extremely helpful. In my case, I now have the money to create new, amazing projects (once I get an idea) where as beforehand I didn't. Even though sales and marketing are much different to working at a fast food restaurant, I am sure the idea of earning money to make money applies to both. Best of luck Jack, let us know how everything goes.
