Hello Everyone,
Not the best of starts with a title of 'Hello.' but I'm having one of those days. you know how it is. ![]() Anyway, me. Well, my name is Chris Taylor and I'm a A-Level Student and also the Managing Director of Top Floor Web Design & Hosting. Amongst, website design, development and hosting I also sell AVG Anti-Virus Software. After doing lots of research and trying them out myself, I found it to be the best and the best value - which is why I only sell the one. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's things that don't do what it says on the tin! Oh dear. I'm ranting before i've even started. ![]() Anyway, I have always had an interest in technology and computers and took a massive interest in the way websites were made at around 10. I have self-taught myself HTML and at the age of 15 started up the design half of my business mainly for local businesses that wanted a small online presence. I got a huge surge for more when I was asked to create a website for an entertainment company in Canada. Last year (we''ll be celebrating our 1st birthday on 25/06/2011) I started the hosting side of the business as a way to give my customers a complete solution to their needs. We're doing very well and have many more ideas up my sleeve for the future! I think i'll like it here and get to meet many like-minded people! |

@cecBUSINESS I always knew that I wanted to have a business of my own but I wasn't sure what. As most of you will know, this is now one of the hardest things to do because every time you you spot a gap in the Market - someone has already invented something to fill it or patented an idea so you can't do it anyway.
When you've got your idea - run with it. Most people start shouting it out and advertising what you're going to do before you've even done it. There is a problem with this for young people such as ourselves starting a new business. The problem is that there will always be someone who could have the business set up and making money in half the time - usually someone with a business portfolio. So my advice is to not shout your ideas out until you need to. However, in some cases this is also the wring thing to do because by shouting your ideas out, you might end up getting big deals (depending in your product/service) from major players. It's just something that you have to think about as a marketing strategy. Apple don't tell the world what they are going to do before they've done it.
