Why don't you charge for your work?

I normally do but I'm actually starting a social pay it forward campaign to help entrepreneurs get online. I know that websites can cost anywhere from 500 to 1000 dollars and that can be very hindering to any entrepreneur.

I feel like this would be a good chance to spark some sort of movement amongst the entrepreneur community. In addition I want to set a guinness world record for most websites created in a year.

Honestly I wouldn't go from $500 to $0. Maybe do something like $50 which a lot will find manageable. I just don't see how it could be worth it to help someone setup something as customizeable as a website for free. Guess it's just my experience with customers of my own, but that would drive me crazy.

I think it's good what you're doing and commend you for doing so but I have to agree with Corey. You could get people who want a site and don't really have a business, it'll be down (if it ever goes up) within months. I don't think it's fair on you to put all that work in for nothing. Charging $50 will get you something and will filter out those that want a website just because it's free.

You guys have some very good points. I guess right now I'm just experimenting with different things and I guess we will see which produce the best results, but thank you for your words of wisdom.
